Afghanistan Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak
Abdul Rahim Wardak is the current Defense Minister of Afghanistan. He was appointed in 2004 by President Hamid Karzai. Prior to this, he was the deputy Defense Minister to the former Mohammed Fahim. He is an ethnic Pushtun from the Wardak province. He has been able to use his influences with his lineage from tribal chieftains and his strong Pushtan relationships to promote ethnic reconciliation with many ethnic groups in the country.
