People Without Health Coverage
Unfortunately, there are many situations an individual can find him or herself on, that will result in them losing their health insurance. They might suddenly lose their job and with that, all their dental and medical coverage. Perhaps they are in low paid employment which means they cannot afford to stretch their salaries to health insurance. Or maybe they are between jobs, or studying to improve their chances of getting a good job for the future.
Remote Area Medical was developed for people exactly like this. It was founded in 1985 as a charitable organization completely volunteer run. This includes doctors, nurses, veterinarians, pilots and support workers. The organization receives donations of medical supplies, medicines, etc. With this kind of organization, those who cannot afford health coverage do not have to completely sink.
